This Sunday, September 7th, two of our Pure Ocean ambassadors will proudly carry our colors in this legendary race: Thomas de Dinechin and Calixte Benoit 🤩
Since 1970, La Solitaire du Figaro has been one of the most iconic offshore racing events: demanding, a true talent‑revealer, and sailed on one‑design Figaro BENETEAU 3 boats.
➡️ Since 2024, it has expanded with a brand‑new format: the Défi Paprec, a first double‑handed stage designed to open the race to a new generation of sailors.
🌊 Our two ambassadors will embody these two formats:
⚓ Thomas de Dinechin, aboard Almond for Pure Ocean, will take the start of the full Solitaire, driven by the determination of a passionate skipper who uses his voice to champion the ocean.
⚓ Calixte Benoit, 24 years old and already boasting an impressive track record, will set off alongside Joseph Cloarec on Médi Terra Bella for Pure Ocean to take on the Défi Paprec.
👉 As we wish them fair winds for this sporting and human adventure, we reaffirm our mission: supporting research and innovation to protect the ocean.

PANTHER project leader Agnese Riccardi brilliantly defended her thesis!
PhD candidate at the Università Politecnica delle Marche, Agnese successfully defended her thesis entitled: “Valorization of marine biodiversity to engage local communities in the design of tailored conservation measures”, receiving an excellent evaluation!
The PANTHER project was born out of her three years of doctoral research, and we have been supporting it since 2023. As a reminder, this innovative initiative aims to restore key marine habitats around the Mediterranean island of Pantelleria by actively involving local communities—fishermen and residents alike—to strengthen ecological resilience in the face of climate change.
🐟 Agnese’s thesis, carried out at the Polytechnic University of Marche, represents a major scientific advancement, promoting marine biodiversity while fostering the co-creation of conservation strategies with local stakeholders.
🙏 We are very proud to have supported her in this ambitious project, which transforms science into concrete action!
The Sage Tour for Pure Ocean 2025: a human and environmental adventure!
Ces derniers mois, aux côtés de Sage Foundation, nous avons sillonné la France – Bordeaux, Nantes & les Sables d’Olonne, Paris, Metz, Lyon & Annecy, Brest – jusqu’en Belgique et au Maroc… pour ramasser les déchets avant qu’ils n’atteignent l’océan. Oui, même loin des côtes, les déchets voyagent par le vent, les rivières, les pluies… et finissent souvent dans l’océan.
📍 8 étapes,
🤝 300 collaboratrices et collaborateurs impliqué·es,
🗑️ + de 3 tonnes de déchets collectés.
En amont du tour, les équipes ont été sensibilisées lors d’un webinar animé par Charlie Mathiot, qui leur a présenté les projets soutenus par Pure Ocean. Leur coup de cœur qui sera financé par leur don ? 💙 Genesis, un projet qui étudie les éponges sous-marines pour y découvrir de nouveaux composés bio-inspirés au service de la médecine et de la chimie verte de demain.
Au-delà de l’impact environnemental, ce Sage Tour for Pure Ocean a été un véritable moment de lien et de partage entre collègues. Une belle preuve que l’engagement, l’action collective et la convivialité peuvent aller de pair.
