News from the research expedition to map unprotected coralligenous habitats in the aegean sea!

In 2021, the Archipelagos Institute of Marine Conservation completed a 14-day expedition to the Fourni Archipelago in the Aegean Sea, Greece. The expedition aimed to map, document and collect data on one of the most fragile habitats in the Mediterranean Sea: Coralligenous habitats.

Pure Ocean presents the 3rd edition of the “Pure Ocean Challenge” !

Following the success of the two previous editions, Pure Ocean is pleased to announce the launch of the 3rd edition of the “Pure Ocean Challenge”. Proposed by PURE OCEAN, ABSOLUTE DREAMER and LORIENT GRAND LARGE, the BERMUDES LORIENT – DÉFI PURE OCEAN is a sailing challenge across the Atlantic Ocean, open to all sailing boat types and classes.

Pure Ocean, solutions for protecting the Ocean

The One Ocean Summit begins today in Brest and Pure Ocean is particularly proud to be present. Global warming, acidification, overfishing, plastic and chemical pollution, deep-water mining… the ocean is under pressure and will be the subject of discussions over the next 3 days.
When we talk about ocean protection, the subject is vast and there is so much to be done. That’s why, at Pure Ocean, we support diverse scientific research projects that address different issues.

GLOBE40 FOR PURE OCEAN

From the moment the GLOBE40 was launched back in June 2019, the organiser made clear its desire to champion societal and environmental causes in addition to the sporting challenge.

The third edition of the cleaning of the Catalan beach !

On the morning of September 4, 2021, the Marseille Swimmers’ Circle organized a cleanup of the Catalan beach in partnership with Pure Ocean Fund.
During this 3rd edition, 625 kilos of waste were collected. Among them :
450 plastic bottles,
495 glass bottles,
547 aluminum cans,
132 masks,
3 scooters,
And 30.000 cigarette butts !
