Pure Ocean has been selected by Numeum on its brand-new donation platform, in partnership with Dift.

Numeum brings together more than 2,500 companies in the tech sector in France. By joining this platform, we gain access to a community of digital professionals who understand the climate emergency and can take concrete action.

Because technology and ecology are not at odds. They complement each other.

Three projects highlighted as part of this partnership:

WHALE TELECOM, led by CSIC in Spain, uses submarine cables to track fin whales and reduce collisions with ships.

WINGS OVER OCEAN, led by CSIC in Spain and North Africa, uses bird biologging and satellite data to detect fishing vessels and combat illegal fishing.

FISH ON THE MOVE, led by Macquarie University in Australia, models the dispersion of fish larvae to optimize marine protected areas.

For eight years beneath the surface, Sofiane experienced what few human beings ever do: more than 10,000 hours immersed in the silence of the underwater world. An extraordinary journey that shaped his relationship with life itself.

It was as a submariner that he first encountered this silent, little‑known, almost unreal world — a universe that profoundly shaped his bond with the ocean and the living world.

After this first life beneath the surface, he stepped out of his metal bubble to discover freediving: a conscious immersion that reconnected him with his body, his breath, and nature. 🫧

This revelation led him on a freediving journey around the world, exploring the ocean… and its fragility.

🎨 Today, Sofiane is a committed underwater artist.

Painting, analog photography, dance ➡️ all created entirely in freediving.

Each immersion becomes a work of art carrying a powerful message: slow down, breathe, reconnect with the ocean.

Through his extraordinary path, he embodies an intimate and mindful relationship with the marine world.

Committing alongside us as an ambassador — to raise awareness and support the urgent need to preserve marine ecosystems through science — was an obvious choice for him.

🎨 Seaty with Hanoï, an emotionally charged painting generously offered by GALRY gallery,

🦞 Pop Cycling for a unique lobster creation made from waste and recovered materials by Lara Le Meur,

🌻 Bruno Fabre for the Fondation Michele Vasarely with the silkscreen print Mimas Sol II,

🐳 Alex Voyer with an image capturing an incredible encounter with a young sperm whale.
