Pure Ocean Documentary #2 – Official teaser
Pure Ocean Documentary #2: Flor do Mar - Official teaser
📅 First screening: Wednesday, December 3, during our Ocean Night.
Today, the ocean is facing an unprecedented crisis.
And it is coastal communities, already vulnerable, who are paying the highest price.
Beneath the surface, everything remains invisible.
How can we protect what we cannot see?
In Brazil, a new voice is rising: that of men and women who are reinventing their connection with life.
Among them is Francimeire Costa, a biologist and daughter of artisanal fishermen, who works every day to regenerate her coastline through sustainable seaweed farming.
🌿 Regen Ocean Farms, supported by Pure Ocean, shows that another path is possible:
➡️ cultivating seaweed using traditional methods
➡️ strengthening the local economy while restoring ecosystems
➡️ connecting science and communities
This documentary tells their struggle, their hopes, and the power of solutions born from the field.
👉 And what if the key lies here: learning to listen to the ocean again in order to reconnect with life?
🎥 Watch the teaser today.
🌙 Join us on December 3 to see the film in its premiere screening.
🎞️ A film directed by Roxane Perrot and Ugo Isoard of Zeke Film, in partnership with the BKK Institute, which leads the Regen Ocean Farms project.
Algae to reduce cow gas?
Algae to reduce cow gas?
Yes, really.
When a cow digests, it naturally produces methane, a gas with a very high climate impact. It is responsible for about 30% of current global warming related to greenhouse gases.
Some species of seaweed contain molecules that “calm” fermentation in the stomach, reducing the amount of gas produced during digestion.
When included in the diet in very small amounts, these seaweeds can:
Reduce methane emissions from digestion by up to 80%
Improve digestion
Decrease the climate impact of livestock without harming animal health or production
A powerful way to reconcile livestock farming and climate!
The Regen Ocean Farms project, supported by you since 2024, works with communities in Brazil to develop sustainable, locally grown seaweed for these innovative uses.
A double benefit: creating an economic sector for local communities while having a positive impact on the climate!
The project will be featured in our upcoming Pure Ocean documentary 2025: Flor Do Mar. Discover it on Wednesday, December 3, at our Ocean Night.

Thanks to your support, significant advances have been made by the Regen Ocean Farms project, on the coastlines of north-east Brazil.
🔬 Researchers at the service of the ecosystem:
In September, scientists Dr. Mutue T. Fujii and Dr. Nair S. Yokoya, from the São Paulo Environmental Research Institute, visited the Corumbau marine protected area (Resex Corumbau). They trained artisanal fishermen in the taxonomic identification of algae and in ecological monitoring methodologies. These tools will enable sustainable exploitation of algal resources, while increasing the services provided by marine ecosystems.
🤝 A local dynamic at the heart of the project:
Ten fishing families are currently involved in growing Hypnea pseudomusciformis, a seaweed with remarkable ecological and biotechnological properties. It is a seaweed rich in active molecules for human and animal health and nutrition, with antibacterial, anti-fungal, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-cancer properties. This activity supports the local economy while reinforcing traditional fishing practices with low environmental impact.
🎯 A project with multiple objectives :
Regen Ocean Farms aims to structure a small-scale seaweed farming industry to restore coastal ecosystems, support local economic development and help combat climate change and plastic pollution.
