What if seaweed could regenerate the ocean… and our economies?

Big news: Pure Ocean is unveiling its second documentary, Flor do Mar.

Following Hidden Secret (2024), this new Pure Ocean Documentary highlights a concrete response to the ocean’s urgent challenges.

Flor do Mar tells the story of Meire, a researcher at the Bonfarto Kaj Konservado Institute (BKK), and Angela, a Brazilian seaweed farmer, who lead a visionary project: Regen Ocean Farms.

Winner of the 2024 Pure Ocean call for projects, Regen Ocean Farms demonstrates the potential of seaweed cultivation. A simple yet powerful solution that allows to:

Restore marine ecosystems

Create a resilient local economy

Provide a sustainable alternative to overfishing and pollution

Behind this project lies an inspiring model of economic transition, scientific innovation, and female leadership.

Seaweed becomes a lever to develop future solutions – bioplastics, methane-reducing feed additives, agricultural biostimulants – opening the way to a new blue economy.

Directed by Zekefilm, the incredible duo Roxane Perrot & Ugo Isoard, who know how to put emotion front and center. A huge thank you to them.

Flor do Mar is more than a documentary: it’s a message of hope and proof that taking action for the ocean is possible.

Premiere: December 3, 2025 – Nuit de l’Océan, at Banque Populaire Méditerranée, Avenue du Prado.
