Le 8 juin 2020, Pure Ocean, en partenariat avec Dune, organise le Pure Ocean Underwater Marathon. Pour cette première mondiale, des plongeurs en bouteille réaliseront, en relais, un parcours sous l’eau à 10 mètres de profondeur environ.
Cette édition spéciale qui allie défi sportif, engagement et innovation au service de l’océan – réalisée dans le respect des mesures sanitaires post-Covid et n’accueillant pas de public – sera relayée en live sur Facebook mais également sous l’eau grâce aux drones sous-marins de Notilo Plus.
Les plongeurs évolueront dans les fonds autour des Îles de Ratonneau et Pomègues, deux des îles de l’archipel du Frioul, à quelques encablures du Vieux-Port de Marseille. Ce patrimoine naturel exceptionnel abrite de nombreuses espèces protégées, marines et terrestres.
Plutôt que la performance, ce marathon subaquatique promet de mettre en lumière le lien fragile entre l’humain et l’environnement en présentant les initiatives innovantes du territoire.
