Après une première édition réussie en 2020, Route Saint-Pierre & Miquelon et Pure Ocean organiseront la deuxième édition de la Route Saint-Pierre Lorient – Défi Pure Ocean en 2021. La ligne de départ sera ouverte du 13 au 27 juin.

La Route Saint-Pierre Lorient – Défi Pure Ocean est un défi à la voile, à travers l’Atlantique, entre Saint-Pierre & Miquelon et Lorient, ouvert à tous types de voiliers et à tout support flottant poussé par le vent, avec plusieurs objectifs :

battre le temps mythique d’Éric Tabarly
sensibiliser le public à l’océan et à la nécessité de le protéger
collecter des données utiles à des études scientifiques pour la protection de l’océan
collecter des fonds pour la recherche océanique

La vocation est d’être une course « autre », centrée sur l’urgence de sauver l’océan et sur les moyens d’y parvenir.

battre les temps de référence de l’édition précédente en 2020 : 8 jours 12 heures 16 minutes 01 seconde
sensibiliser le public à l’océan et à la nécessité de le protéger
collecter des données utiles à des études scientifiques pour la protection de l’océan
collecter des fonds pour la recherche océanique
positionner l’archipel de Saint Pierre & Miquelon comme une destination de course au large
développer une liaison nautique durable entre Lorient et Saint Pierre et Miquelon.
