\nFrom 11th to 19th June 2020, Marseille will host an international event: the World Conservation Congress organized by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the French Ministry for the Ecological and Inclusive Transition and the French Office of Biodiversity. <\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

It established the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species™, which has since evolved into the world\u2019s most comprehensive data source on the global extinction risk of species. Gathering experts from a variety of backgrounds, IUCN offers solutions to governments and institutions for environmental protection. Indeed, it spearheads many international standards and guidelines.<\/p>\n Every 4 years, members, leaders and decision-makers meet at the World Conservation Congress, designed to tackle global environmental challenges. The event is organized in two parts:<\/p>\n This crucial Congress gives impetus to the environmental decade and prepares for the COP15 which will take place in Beijing at the end of the year. It is also the opportunity for France to demonstrate its commitment to protecting biodiversity. Calls for contributions have also been launched for all those wishing to make suggestions. More than 100,000 visitors are expected! The Members\u2018 Assembly, considered as a \u201cunique environmental parliament in the world\u201d, is where governments and NGOs will make joint major decisions on conservation and sustainability, defining motions and a roadmap for the next four years.
